Usage: Aromasin is used for treating advanced breast cancer in women who are past menopause and whose disease has progressed after treatment with other medicines. It is also used in the treatment of early breast cancer in certain women who are past menopause and after treatment with other medicines.

Aromasin is an aromatase inhibitor. It works by stopping the production of estrogen, which may decrease the size and growth of the tumor.

Half-Life: The half life is 25-27 hours, which means you can easily get away with taking this drug every other day or once a day.

What is Aromasin ?

Aromasin is the trade name for Exemestane, a drug used to treat breast cancer in women. Similarly to arimidex, it is member of the aromatase inhibitor class of drugs.

Aromasin is a suicidal aromatase inhibitor (AI), meaning it permanently disables the aromatase enzyme once it binds to it. In plain English, Aromasin will prevent the currently bound enzymes from rebounding, which is what separates this drug from letrozole or arimidex. When you use other AI's, they temporarily stop estrogen from aromatizing, but when you stop taking them those same enzymes can rebound causing what is known as 'estrogen rebound'. This explains why some anabolic steroid users experience gynecomastia (bitch tits) after cycle when using other AI's. Studies on breast cancer patients have shown aromasin reduced estrogen levels up to 85%.

Aromasin used in bodybuilding

Some of the anabolic androgenic steroids (AAS) are converted into estrogen in vivo; all testosterone esters, nandrolones, dianabol and boldenone are examples. If you can not control, the user will risk developing several types of estrogen side effects (such as men's breast development), water retention, blood pressure and heart problems. If estrogen is out of control, a domino effect may occur. Imagine carrying 2 gallons of water all day long!

Users may notice feeling uncomfortable and tired, blood pressure will rise, the move will be reduced. These side effects will first defeat the purpose of running steroids. In addition, when shedding a cycle, high estrogen levels interfere with the recovery of the body's natural testosterone levels.

Though, arimidex is easier to control in terms of short term dosing; meaning, with short cycles under 8 weeks there is no need to kill your whole estrogen production.

Letrozole (letro) is known to be too strong and too harsh. When using higher dosages of letro, many bodybuilders complain of reduced libido and slight depression. This is due to the aromatase in the brain being disabled by letrozole use. It is crucial to control estrogen during cycle, but you should never cripple it or you can face unwanted sides. Even though estrogen is a female hormone, men still need it to function. As with arimidex, letro also cannot boast being a suicidal AI.

The dosage of Aromasin 

Aromasin is usually supplied in 25 mg tablets. Dosing of Aromasin in anabolic steroid cycles is most commonly 12.5 mg every other day, 12.5 mg daily, or at most 25 mg daily.

As with other aromatase inhibitors, there is a relation between the amount of aromatizable steroids used and the dose of inhibitor needed, but it is not a purely proportional matter. For example, let's say that a previous cycle a lifter used 250 mg/week of testosterone, along with 750 mg/week of non-aromatizable steroids. And let's say he found 12.5 mg/day Aromasin to be suitable for that cycle. If he now wishes to use 1000 mg/week of testosterone, which is four times more, most likely he should not multiply his Aromasin dosage by four times. That would be 50 mg/day which is outside of the normal dosage range. I would recommend 25 mg/day as an estimated dose in this instance.

Arimidex, letrozos, and Aromasin all are capable of working well and predictably for estrogen control. If already experienced with a given aromatase inhibitor, I recommend continuing with it, as personal dosing is already understood. If you have not yet tried any, then any of them can be effective.
